About the Role

Prilenia seeks a proven EU launch leader to create and drive execution of Prilenia’s commercial strategy in Europe. The ideal candidate will have held a commercial leadership role in rare disease, spanning multiple European markets, with demonstrated excellence in building teams in various structures in support of successful drug product launches.  A critical factor will be establishing the necessary capabilities to support a rapid launch of pridopidine in Europe, while highlighting plans to scale those capabilities over time.

This position will report to the Chief Regulatory and Commercialization Officer.


  • Own Europe P&L, including budgets and execution to drive revenue goals.

  • Develop a comprehensive EU launch strategy in alignment with global brand strategy, marketing, market access, medical and commercialization plan 

  • Develop an optimized operating model for Europe to ensure maximum launch success for pridopidine. Ensure country launch readiness and excellence, with capability builds as required and balancing central vs local roles. 

  • Support Assessment of marketing and sales opportunities through appropriate market research. 

  • Establish, develop and manage a fit for purpose European (EU and GB) team and organization to facilitate a scalable commercial infrastructure across Europe 

  • Oversee commercial market access and distribution for Europe. Ensure distribution channels in the region to accelerate go to market strategy.   

  • Work with Market Access, Medical and the Commercial team to deliver a sustainable pricing and access strategy, and a comprehensive external engagement plan (incl. clinical experts, diagnostic, policy, patient advocacy).

  • Ensure compliant development and execution of all initiatives according to company policies, ethics and legal/regulatory requirements

  • Serve as Subject Matter Expert (SME) for European commercialization and market access practices 

  • Contribute positively to a strong culture of business integrity and ethics.

Key Qualifications

  • 15+ years' relevant experience with a bachelor's degree and a successful history in EU biopharma commercialization with rare diseases. Launch experience with rare diseases in neurology and EU4+UK preferred. Master's degree, MBA or other advanced degree preferred

  • Experience in oversight and/or exposure to all commercial-enabling functions at local, regional and/or global level

  • Proven track record in leading and managing high performing teams in an international environment

  • In-depth experiences and track record of commercial leadership in a globally oriented organization in the biopharma industry, with proven ability to undertake both strategic and tactical commercial activities on an international scale

  • Record of leading an organization through launches and growth—scale-up experience strongly preferred

  • Experience working in a global, fast-paced, customer-focused environment.

  • Strong understanding of the European market access landscape and process in EU, Great Britain. Understand diagnostic infrastructure in the region.

  • Demonstrated experience engaging with, and activating, physicians across multiple European markets.

  • Outstanding leadership skills; experience in building, developing, and leading teams in a structured, well-organized, compliant, manner; constant focus on personal and team development

  • Strong executive presence and hands-on mindset, start-up experience, with a willingness to "roll sleeves up" to get things done


  • This a full-time position in Europe

  • Flexible schedule with frequent calls across Europe and North America

  • Travel require
