
Medical Science Liaison (MSL)

About the Role
The Medical Science Liaison (MSL) will work closely with healthcare professionals (HCPs), Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs), Key Decision Makers (KDMs)/payors to increase awareness of Prilenia, engage in robust and compliant scientific exchanges, and build advocacy and professional relationships within the therapeutic area(s) relevant to Prilenia’s portfolio.
Responsibilities

Identify and establish professional relationships with key opinion leaders and other HCPs at relevant centers of excellence (COEs) within their region.

Provide clinical and scientific information in response to inquiries about disease state(s) and, as appropriate, Prilenia’s products to physicians, other HCPs, medical centers and staff, health maintenance organizations/payors, and government health organizations, in accordance with the medical plan.

Collect and report insights gleaned in the field from external (KOL/KDM/HCP) interactions to inform strategies, development, and lifecycle opportunities.

Develop and execute tactical plans to provide needs-based medical support to the medical and scientific communities aligned with company and Medical Affairs objectives.

Support evidence generation objectives including investigator-initiated research ideas and proposals, registries, and current/future clinical studies.

Liaise with US investigators/sites involved with clinical trials to provide pertinent medical information and support

Collaborate with key internal and external stakeholders on Medical Affairs-led initiatives including publications, ad boards, medical education, training, and speaker development.

Compliantly partner with other Prilenia functions (e.g., commercial, market access) on initiatives requiring medical input and presence.

Interact with other field-based personnel to ensure that Prilenia maintains a strong clinical and scientific presence in the field.

Maintain accurate reporting and documentation of MSL action plans and key performance indicators.

Ensure that all activities and interactions comply with Prilenia’s business guidance, policies and SOPs, and PhRMA guidelines/policies.

Actively participate in all relevant and assigned congresses in accordance with congress plans and tactical elements.

As applicable, engage payor medical personnel to provide requested information and inform Prilenia of key comments related to evidence generation requirements for formulary consideration.
Key Qualifications

Advanced Scientific Degree (MD, PharmD, PhD, etc.) required

Background and experience in Neurology and/or rare disease is required
-
5+ years experience preferred in MSL role

Experience in working with Payors, both private and Medicaid/Medicare preferred

Demonstrated ability to forge professional relationships and effectively manage assigned territory

Strong presentation skills

Familiar with commonly employed software including Microsoft office, Veeva, and other relevant infrastructure elements

Excellent written and verbal English communication skills

A passion for serving patients and their unmet medical needs
Location/Time/Travel

This role is full-time remote position

Significant travel expected (~60%)
