About the Role

Reporting to the VP, Head of Research, Prilenia is looking for a Scientific IP Lead to join the scientific team. This is a strategic role that will lead the scientific substantiation of Prilenia’s patent portfolio, drive the creation of new IP applications, and manage Prilenia’s IP operations together with our IP attorneys.
The ideal candidate will be part of a dynamic and growing research and science driven team supporting the development of new drugs for the treatment of neurodegenerative diseases and neurodevelopmental disorders indications in rare diseases.  
This position will also provide scientific content and project management support to our other scientific activities. The role requires working closely with Prilenia’s management, and collaborating with CMC, regulatory and communications leads within the company.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Lead Prilenia’s IP portfolio activities including:
    o    Develop and write scientific responses as part of IP prosecution process 
    o    Integrate scientific data to strengthen Company’s IP
    o    Develop scientific plans for IP support
    o    Create and write scientific sections of new IP applications

  • Manage all IP strategy and operations 

  • Work closely with Prilenia’s IP attorneys and the Prilenia team to manage Prilenia’s internal timelines and ensure timely submissions and responses in coordination with Prilenia’s IP attorneys 

  • Monitor Prilenia’s IP portfolio progress and create relevant reports to management and the Board of Directors 

  • Support IP due diligence 

  • Support additional scientific projects and tasks 

Required Qualifications and skills

  • Ph.D. in neuroscience

  • Native English speaking and writing 

  • At least three (3) years of experience working in the biotech/pharma industry 

  • Outstanding writing and communication skills

  • Ability to critically analyze and summarize scientific data and create effective arguments in support of IP strategy 

  • High attention to detail, diligence, and reliability

  • Ability to clearly and effectively communicate complex scientific data 

  • Strong project management skills, with a history of driving and meeting timelines

  • Independent with strong self-discipline and the ability to thrive when given space and flexibility with minimal structure and guidance

  • Demonstrated experience in working remotely and in a global setting

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience with IP (highly preferred)

  • PhD/research experience in neurodegenerative/neurodevelopmental disorders

  • Track record of peer-reviewed published manuscripts and reviews

  • Prior experience working with executives

Location

  • This is a full-time position in Israel – hybrid model, remote with occasional in-office meetings

  • Flexible schedule with frequent calls across Israel and North America
